My Housemates

From 2014 till 2018 I lived in two different shared living projects/flats in Vienna; first three years I was in a queer house project Türkis Rosa Lilla Villa and after that in a flat with two more queer people. Living in the Villa I was very inspired by that place of 11 people living together. Even though we didn’t live in the same flat, living under the same roof and being engaged in the community work, I got a strong feeling that we belonged together. I’ve started photographing my housemates in their rooms mostly trying to catch my impression of the symbioses of their personalities and a living space but also giving them a freedom to surprise me with something hidden behind the walls of our common living spaces. After I moved out the idea of “behind the walls” continued occupying me so I continued to photograph my next flatmates.
