Photography is the air that I breathe, my camera the most vital extension of my body. It allows me to satisfy my deepest desire—to create images that evoke a sense of harmony, wonderment, and wellbeing. As I go about my daily life, I see common events as if through the optics of the lens, instead of a human eye. I see color, vitality, emotion, and offer my interpretation back to the viewer imbued with a rare sense of grace.
My work explores an array of experimental methods and subject matter, such as nature photography, underwater imagery, abstracted reflections, in-camera double-exposures and long exposures, as well as mosaic and geometric imagery. Working with state of the art professional equipment, I begin by shooting in very large raw format. I employ precise post-production techniques, including Photoshop and cutting-edge software, as well as archival fine art printing processes, to create original images that are at once powerful and elegant.
I work in small editions, printing a maximum of ten prints and two artist proofs of each image, in sizes ranging from intimate to monumental. Constantly searching for different modalities and visual vocabulary, I would like to develop my photography to include drone imagery, as well as kinetic sculptural installations.
