As a street photographer, I find great artistic inspiration in the simplest of human actions and their unguided, candid composition within the space in encounter them in. For this series, I wanted to create a powerful sense of the still moment, in which each photograph lacks movement and highlights its subject's stationary position within the frame.
My photography - which aims to blur the lines between street, documentary and art - has always come from a place of wanting to draw attention to the beauty of human existence, and I wanted to revisit this in a very consistent way in this series. I recently reread a beautiful sentiment that Dorothea Lange shared; "Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still." I hope that this series captures an essence of this, and portrays the value of stillness, amidst all the chaos of a metropolis like London.
