RE-rendering revolution
RE-rendering revolution is a series of snapshot-like color photographs taken from 2014 to 2016 and then rendered through a 3d digital process and A.I
at the memorial marches of 17 November that commemorate the events of the polytechnic riot of 17/11/1973 against the Military Junta that ruled Greece from 1967 to 1974 that ended with the crushing of the uprising from the regime. Usually, in almost the religious manner the mass rallies that commemorate the events of that day are followed with all night riots and clashes between some groups of the protesters and the riot police units. It
seems that history repeats itself as a semi-staged reenactment trying to repeat or reincarnate an uprising that never materialized in a successful revolution.
This series of photographs try to create a small visual story of objects people and places, that participate or observe these events focusing not on the spectacular sublime images created by the riots but rather on details that give insight to the procedure the environment that these events take place, the people that participate and their feelings. Trying to understand if the visual representation of these events can convey any meaning or becomes just a simulacrum with no possible reference to the real event more close to a 3d rendering or a video game than a historic event or actual image.
