Przemek Krzakiewicz is a photographer who works on long-term projects. He made his debut in 1992 in the ‘Tygodnik Powszechny’ weekly magazine. He is a graduate of photography from the Łódź Film School. Krzakiewicz’s projects mainly concentrate on deep-rooted sociological observations and his ability to make striking portraits of representatives of social groups which are undergoing to socio-economic and cultural change. His work leans on academic theories which are often unproven or discredited. Krzakiewicz conjoins differing artistic disciplines, referring to photography as a tool or medium. He has won stipends from the Kraków Municipality, X-CHANGE culture-science in Austria as well as the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. He has been awarded twice by the Kraków Art. Salon (2018, 2020).
