Ruth Lauer-Manenti received an MFA from The Yale School of Art in painting in 1994. In 2012, she inherited a large format camera and accomplished what she was striving for in painting, through photography. Her mother was an artist who left behind a legacy of unknown work. Part of Ruth’s determination is to create a family continuum. She received a NYFA grant in 2016 and had a solo exhibition at The Center for Photography in Woodstock, NY in 2020. Since breaking her neck at the age of twenty, Ruth has developed a spiritual life that has propelled her photographic work.
