About Sacha Lehrfreund

Sacha Lehrfreund works as an artist using photography and multi-media. She also works as a picture editor and producer for major photographic projects.
Recent work concentrates on issues of loss and neglect through the depiction of the urban landscape. She is interested in exploring the extremes of beauty and dereliction in urban nature, to survey a hidden perspective about injustice in society.
Sacha undertakes, long term projects, which facilitates an in-depth approach and allows for research, collaboration and experimentation.
Earlier work, focused on the margins of society; the homeless, and people deprived of the basic human right to safe housing. These were long term documentary and portrait projects, with collaboration at the heart of the work.
Currently, Sacha is working on a time-lapse project about illness and loss. Two ancient trees under threat from disease and ultimately removal, form the visual basis for the film.
