About
Sam L. Street
The street is where poetry happens, the poetry of everyday life. It can be found between the lines, in the streetcorners, among the abandoned bottles, cigarette butts, wet umbrellas, a lonely biker, and embracing lovers; these are the poems of everyday life.
My artist's name is Sam L. Street. I am a sociologist and a university lecturer, and, at the same time, a street photographer. I have a passion for capturing the vibrant energy of street life. Whether exploring new cities or capturing the essence of my hometown, Amsterdam, I am constantly inspired by the beauty of urban life. Whether exploring bustling city streets or seeking hidden treasures in quiet corners, I always look for combinations of objects, people, and colors that tell a story or express an emotion. For me, street photography is a way of seeing the world with fresh eyes and discovering new connections and narratives amid the ordinary. As I frame my shots, I am always mindful of the emotions they convey, the colors that predominate, and the narrative that emerges.
