Sammaneh Poursh (Shampoo Champagne) is an Iranian-born, Australian-based queer femme contemporary artist, poet and educator whose work explores notions of identity, history and psychology.
Poursh's multidisciplinary practice engages mediums such as collage, photography, painting, video and performance. Her work focuses on the exploration of cultural identity, sexuality, gender, memory, and the grotesque as well as engaging in conversations with historical art movements such as the Renaissance, Surrealism, Middle Eastern art and the concept of artist-as-shaman. Poursh has exhibited both nationally and internationally and is also the founder of Asian Persuasion, Cut You Bitch and Talented Women Are Terrifying art collectives.
