I've been involved with Black and White photography since 1979, using for most of the time a fine art approach, having shows and printing a limited edition Portfolio called Back to the Light. A majority of my work has been made inside my house or around town. I make a lot of paper constructions to photograph. More recently I've been exploring more of an outsider artist attitude experimenting with alternative ways to display an image other than with a white mat in a metal frame. My house is filled with these alternative heavily painted cardboard constructed frames using a variety of methods with varying degrees of visual success. I do confess it is entirely possible there is no better way to display a photographic image than in a metal frame with a white mat.
