About Silvia Mahjabin

Silvia Mahjabin is a Dhaka-based photographer and visual practitioner, currently pursuing Photo Media Studies at Pathshala South Asian Media Institute. With a background in Computer Technology and experience in graphic design, her practice moves between experimental, fine art, and contemporary documentary photography. Her work often begins from personal experiences, everyday observations, and an ongoing curiosity about her surroundings.

Deeply influenced by cinema, she approaches image-making as a way of seeing, thinking, and responding—often drawn to subtle, in-between moments and details that might otherwise go unnoticed. Alongside her personal work, she has contributed to The Daily Star and collaborated with various organizations. Beyond photography, she is interested in human psychology, writing, editing, and designing which helped shape her visual language.
