About Stephen Sunnucks

After a successful international career in fashion, London-based fine-art photographer Stephen Sunnucks made the decision to focus his time on his art and has never regretted this change. Stephen has always felt himself drawn to the themes of "abandonment, identity, and the sea", particularly in the streets of London and to the British seaside towns that represent a large part of his youth.

Stephen's work takes him to diverse places worldwide; from deserted herring factories and volcanic beaches in Northern Iceland, to the amusement arcades and fish and chip shops of Kent, England. His distinctive photographs, often stripped bare of excessive detail reflect his nostalgic perception of times gone by, moments of time fleetingly captured by his keen eye.

Following his own mental-health struggles, Stephen also works as an advocate for mental-health awareness and well-being, co-founding My Minds-Eye, a workshop programme aimed at building confidence and offering support to mental-health sufferers.

When not travelling Stephen spends his time between London and Deal in Kent.
