Steve Homol is a photographer living in Chandler, Arizona. He was born in West Virginia in 1970 and spent most of his early childhood in Ohio. In 1979, Steve decided it was time for a change and moved to Arizona to immerse himself in the culture of the Southwest. .
In the late 90’s he received an unexpected (and somewhat uncharacteristic) Christmas gift from his mom, a very nice point and shoot camera. It helped to ignite his love of photography and to be creative in a visual way. Steve soon purchased a SLR camera and began taking photography classes at a local community college. He discovered early on that portraiture, in its many forms had the greatest appeal to him and he soon began fabricating portraits with his own particular slant. Steve has been producing work for the last 15 years.
In many ways Steve's photography is just a visual interpretation of his humor, sometimes subtle and sometimes dry and sarcastic. Steve strives to make images that will make the viewer laugh or consider the sub-context of his narrative.
