„Textures and traditions captured through a progressive black-and-white lens.”
After retiring in 2023, I decided to return to my first creative passion — photography. In the late 1970s and early 1980s I photographed with film cameras, but at that time I did not yet feel how powerful the medium could be for self-expression. Work and life soon pulled me in other directions, and my photography went dormant for decades.
Reaching retirement brought a new awareness: I wanted to express my emotions and perceptions through images, to capture both the fleeting and the timeless aspects of life. With digital technology now at hand, I have embraced photography again, but with a renewed sense of purpose.
Over the past year I have joined a photography club and discovered that black-and-white and progressive photography resonate deeply with me. I have photographed landscapes, flowers and events, but I felt traditional documentary styles were not enough to express what I truly feel. Today I am exploring new visual languages — progressive, experimental and fine art photography — as a way to translate emotion, texture and tradition into images that invite viewers to see beyond the obvious.
