I'm a photographer losing vision due to a progressive blinding disorder known as RP. Although I wanted to be a serious photographer in the style of Ansel Adams from a young age, my visual impairment held me back, and I resigned myself to family snapshots. I pursued other passions, like art, writing, and social work. Then in 2013 my dream of being a fine art photographer was realized with the help of a point-and-shoot camera, a 47-inch computer monitor, and my remaining vision. the art education I had in high school and college inform my photography, as does my visual impairment, as I see best in high contrast. This is one reason I prefer black and white. The other is that I've always admired classic black and white photography.
