About Tariq Sardi

Throughout the noughties I composed soundtracks for dance, theatre and other art projects. My main focus was sound and space. My instruments were microphones and multichannel sound systems. Sound was a material I used to sculpt space by connecting the sense of being somewhere to the infinity of places produced by the imagination. I shifted my focus as the years passed towards exploring territories and developping sound installations linked to local communities. During the academic year 2012-13, I was selected to take part in the master Program of Experimentation in Arts and Politics (SPEAP), founded and directed by philosopher Bruno Latour at the Paris School of Political Science (SciencesPo). Photography was always a marginal activity which strenghened through the years until it gained a central place in my process as I continued shifting more and more towards the exploration of communities and territories as a freelance investigator.
