About Tatiana Sotnikova

My name is Tatiana Sotnikova and I am a neuroscientist. I was born in Bern, Switzerland, grew up in Russia, worked in US, Europe and Italy, where I am living now (Genova). I have always been fascinated by photography, taking pictures of family, kids, public points of interest, nature, etc. After taking G. Pinkhassov’s workshop in 2014 and discovering for myself new names and works of some of the famous photographers (Florence Henri, Sarah Moon, Osamu Shiihara, Man Ray, Ralph Gibson, Kishin Shinoyama, Saul Leiter, Erwitt Elliott, Martin Munkacsi, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Bruno Barbey) my views about photography has completely changed. Now photography for me is a very strong passion and big part of my life. I am still challenging myself to find my style of work. I love to play with the light, to find unexpected plasticity of shapes and lines. For me it is very important that my photos have a a visual poetry. I will be very happy if my works would have an emotional impact on my audience.
