Thierry Cerpolet is a visual artist specialized in Fine Art and documentary photography.
Inspired initially by the work of the Italian master photographer Fulvio Roiter he met in the 80’s, he developed a keen sense of observation and visual storytelling. Influenced also by masters such as Stephen Shore, Joel Meyerowitz, Harry Gruyaert among others, he further refined his artistic vision through several workshops with renowned photographers coordinated by the Leica Boutique store in Montreal and the Leica Akademie USA.
Between air and matter, he combines the past and the present by witnessing to what has been, what is here today and what will certainly no longer be here tomorrow in an environment that is constantly changing.
Inspiration and imagination are the main sources of his artistic creativity, which always push him in search of visual beauty in nature or elsewhere through his ability to see things beyond the ordinary. His creativity was even more recently amplified by enjoying the use of slow-motion effects realized via low speed and intentional camera movement techniques.
Associated to the nostalgia for the passage of time, the poetry of the ephemeral, his evocative fine art imagery is not just for the contemplation but for the meditation too. Using skilful compositions, geometry, shapes, lines and perspectives, his photographs are stirring a sense of movement in an appealing graphical mood that was awarded internationally over the recent years, mainly at:
. IPA International Photo Awards, Honorable Mention (2019) and Official Selection (2022, 2024)
. International Color Awards, Honorable Mention (2022) and Nominees (2022, 2023, 2024, 2025).
His fine art prints are held in in both private and professional collections.
