About Thomas Folke Andersen

Born in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1974, I have lived more than 20 years of my life outside of Denmark, in USA, Hong Kong and Australia. I bought my first SLR camera in Hong Kong and decided to figure out how to use it when I moved to Sydney, Australia in 2001.

I remember reading the camera manual for the first time and being inspired by the creative possibilites all the different camera settings offer. I find the blend of technique and creativity fascinating, sometimes frustrating, other times rewarding, but always very therapeutic.

When making images I employ a strong sense of composition, colour and light. I really enjoy exploring geometry, pattern and texture in my images and I am fascinated by finding beauty in the ordinary.

Today I reside in the small historical town of Køge in Denmark, located just 20 minutes outside of Copenhagen. I have the great privilege to be a dual citizen of Denmark and Australia and love both countries.
