I started my career in the feature film editing world as an assistant editor working under directors such as Martin Scorsese, Francis Coppola and Milos Forman among others. After this I started to make my own documentary films with my partner Francisco Bello. Our first, SALIM BABA, was nominated for both an Oscar and an Emmy in the short documentary category and the second DREAMING AGAINST THE WORLD premiered at the 2018 Telluride Film Festival. Since then I have edited several documentaries including DANNY SAYS by Brendan Toller and worked as second editor under Walter Murch on PARTICLE FEVER. My work in both fiction and documentary films has cross pollinated with my photographic work. It's helped me to try and make each frame provoke in the viewer a larger "scene" or sequence of activity happening around the pictures even though none of my work is staged.
