Tobi Sobowale is a British-Nigerian photographer from South London. As her career has progressed, Tobi has been able to refine her own unique style of shooting. Building an aesthetic that is colourful, bold and expressive.
Her work introduces new narratives about Black beauty, identity, and culture, embracing themes of the past and how they present themselves in today’s world. Tobi challenges societal stereotypes that are placed on people, particularly black women, often inspired by her Yoruba heritage and her upbringing in South London.
Her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Architecture provides her with a tailored perspective, incorporating concepts of spatial awareness, scale, and composition amongst others.
