Torsten Schumann (* 1975 in East Germany) is a Berlin based photographer. He was awarded the Arte Laguna Prize for Photography in 2012 and received the OPUS Kulturmagazin Award in 2015.
In 2014 he took part in the Print Exhibition of the Royal Photographic Society in London, the Humble Arts Foundation New York, Art in Box Gallery Prague and received an award from the contemporary art fair Berliner Liste.
In 2015 Torsten Schumann exhibited at the Circulation(s) Festival for young European photography in Paris, at the Filter Foto Festival´s exhibition CONTEXT 2015 in Chicago and had a solo show in Berlin.
2016 he took part in the group show "FAUX" at the Center for Fine Art Photography in Fort Collins and at "How to structure things in space" at exp12, Berlin.
In 2016 his book "More Cars, Clothes and Cabbages" was published by Peperoni Books and his photobook dummy "inclined" was shortlisted for the UNSEEN dummy award.
Schumann´s photographs are part of the JPMorgan Chase Art Collection New York and international private collections.
