Polish-born Tycjan Trzpiola is a street photographer, designer and documentary filmmaker now living in Amsterdam. From an early age, Tycjan became fascinated with photos and documentaries from around the world, particularly those that reflected the diversity of nature and cultural life.
He studied visual arts and design at the Design Institute in Wrocław, Poland, and after three years of working at a designer, pursued a freelance career in photography and film. He worked on many foreign documentary film and photography projects, travelling to the likes of Japan, USA, Canada, Kenya, Norway, Iceland, Sri Lanka and Faroe Islands
In 2020, he moved to Amsterdam, working as an integrated designer for a global ad agency while always documenting life along the canals and the rest of The Netherlands. He also went back to his roots - shooting most of his pictures with a 35mm and 120mm film. Shooting in this medium has allowed him to stop and focus even deeper on the thought processes.
