About Victoria Campillo Grau

For the past twenty years I have been working nonstop on my photographic project, based in the identity that comes with objects from quotidianity and it's relation to Art.
In my work, i discuss art, quoting other artists and making connections between diferent subjects.
I like to mix high and low culture.
In many of my series i use clothing as a support to express my ideas.
I also employ elements of everyday life:
coffee games, piggy banks, elephants, bags, etc...
The series often have 50 or 100 images. I also references to classical subjects of the history of art: nudes, still life, the military theme, the great masters of history.
For my photos I choose everiday objects that I feel attracted to and I relate them to contemporary artworks from other artists I admire.
The World is a huge object catalog where I can select the one are useful for the story I want to tell. In a way the attraction I feel for objects is related to my own biography but in a subtle way.
For the form I want to keep things very simple and neutral I don’t want nothing to disturb my message and I’m also into repetition like an obsesion. In all my images you find the name of the artist that the object relates to just in the middle. And always with the same Herlvetica typo.
These are the series I offer to your attention.
