About Wendy Garfinkel-Gold

I have loved photography since childhood. I remember discovering family photo albums my grandmother had and was captivated by the images' ability to transport me to an earlier time. Since then I have been transfixed by the power and meaning of photographs.

I attended art school in the 1980s and spent many hours in the library looking at photography books and publications. Getting lost in these artists' works was a great source of inspiration. Today we are fortunate to see so much imagery online, but the art college library in the 1980s was a fantastic way to be exposed to a lot of work without traveling to photo galleries.

After graduation, I worked for a commercial photographer, a small advertising agency, and a film production company. My love for photography always remained. In 2014 and after 23 years as a graphic designer, I decided to devote myself to the art and study of photography and explore the medium full-time. I have shot various genres from still life to natural light nude as well as artistic portraiture.
