Yinon Gal-On has been exploring for the past decade the space between physical and metaphysical presence, the gaps between the Breath and the Soul, documenting with his underwater camera one-off moments of floating emotions. Underwater, Gal-On strives to capture the inner thoughts, deep memories, hidden pain and pleasure that exist beyond the visual or the tangible.
"Underwater I feel I'm moving between reality and imagination, between the visible and the hidden, between the physical and the spiritual and so I see these works as a range between the realistic and the surreal. I aspire for a complete rather than a perfect image. The main part of the process is the intimate conversation with the subject in the aim of reaching a sense of acceptance and liberation. I believe that inner connection fills us with happiness and that's where I strive".
