About Yunan Jiang

I'm a passionate street photographer based in Seattle.
I was born in a tiny town on the west side of China. It is close to inner Mongolia, and most of its population is Muslim. So I grow up in this place with mixed religions and nations. I lived in Beijing for 4 years for my undergraduate. And then, I went to Carnegie Mellon University in the US for my master's degree in entertainment technology. I find my growth path a treasure of my life because it makes me inclusive and often objective to different cultures.
Street photography is all about my enthusiasm to tell stories and show people what I see. My favorite photographer is Alex Webb. I love strong contrast colors and close but rich-detailed scenarios. My taste of good photos should have the audience get the story purely from visuals. In addition, my background of living in different cultures makes me love to observe.
I'm very new to street photography, but I'm serious about taking pictures. And I know people have to take street photography very seriously since a picture without knowing the history and without thinking is meaningless.
We own the street!
