Alexandra Sophie, born on September 30th, 1992 in Belfort (France), is a French artist and photographer.
She grew up in the French countryside and discovered photography randomly through disposable cameras.
Due to a long illness, Alexandra stopped school in 2008 and started her career in photography as a self-taught photographer.
Her work is rapidly compared to David Hamilton’s, because of the young girls she photographs and her way of capturing ambient light. Her creations are used in magazines such as Vogue and Elle, internationally and are frequently featured on book covers.
Alexandra Sophie and her partner give birth to their son Marin in 2011. Alexandra Sophie created her emblematic series “Jardin Fleuri” inspired by her motherhood represented by SIPA Press.
In February 2013, Alexandra was nominated for the -F- Award as emerging photographer of the year, which is awarded each year to the best photographers worldwide. She won the award, and goes for a world tour in order to realise the series “Rebus”.
In September of the same year, Alexandra Sophie was a finalist of the international fashion photography contest Vogue x Bottega Veneta and realised for the occasion her first personal exhibition on the American continent in Openhouse gallery in New York.
2014 starts with an exhibition in Japan for her series "Jardin Fleuri", and, in March 2014, Alexandra gives workshops and conferences in the University TEC de Monterrey, in Mexico. Since Alexandra's fashion work is now represented by an agent, she choose to dedicate this year to fashion, and create several editorial and campaign, mixing fashion to her usual style.
