About Alicia Fernández

Alicia Fernández is a Mexican visual journalist from Ciudad Juarez, Mexico border with the United States.

As a photographer, she was part of El Diario de Juarez team that was awarded the Maria Moors Cabot prize in 2011.

She has been a field producer and contributor with international journalists and researchers.

His images have appeared in media such as Al Jazeera, BBC London, Associated Press, Brut, Verdens Gang, Der Spiegel, among others.

She has also contributed to organizations that work for the training and protection of journalists such as the International Center For Journalists (ICFJ) and Article 19.

She was awarded a scholarship in 2011 by the Foundry Workshop of Photojournalism and is a fellow of the International Women's Media Foundation (IWMF).

She was a multimedia producer, as well as a photography and video editor for the Spanish newspaper El Pais in its Latin American version.

He is currently a freelance audiovisual journalist.
