This series pairs seemingly disparate images to create unexpected visual relationships that explore a wide range of ideas—perception, scale, reality, and illusion. Each composition invites the viewer to consider how differences can coexist, interact, and inform one another in powerful and often poetic ways.

The title Dualities reflects the core concept of the work: a deliberate juxtaposition of elements that may initially appear unrelated, yet reveal surprising connections when seen together. These pairings challenge our assumptions, not only about what images mean on their own, but also about how meaning evolves when they are placed in dialogue. In this series, difference and similarity are not opposites—they are complementary forces that deepen the viewer’s understanding through contrast and resonance.

One example is the use of found negative images, which subvert traditional expectations of what a photograph should look like. When placed alongside much smaller images of planets, eclipses, and distant galaxies, these portraits—much larger in scale and more grounded in human presence—invite exploration of perspective, time, and space. The cosmic and the personal are woven together, prompting reflection on our place in a vast and complex universe. Dualities is ultimately about relationships—between image and meaning, past and present, reality and imagination.
