I have over 20,000 images stored on my laptop–mostly my own artwork, and the vintage postcards and anonymous photos I obsessively collect.
When my screensaver starts, random images from my collection appear in various combinations, showing them for a second or two. The fleeting juxtapositions are often uncanny.
The ten images in the series are all photographs I took of my laptop screen as images flowed by. I had no control over combinations — I just snapped a picture when things looked good or especially interesting. I liked giving over part of the selection process to chance.
