Avery Norman is a Texas born photographer currently based in New York City. She graduated from Pratt Institute in 2022 with a BFA in Photography, followed by the International Center of Photography’s year long creative practices program in 2023. Her images focus on youth, girlhood, and American identity.
Avery’s work has been awarded internationally, e.g. with a PhotoWork Junior Fellowship grant in 2026, Photo Vogue’s global open call ‘Women by Women’ in 2025, and LensCulture’s Critics’ Choice award in 2026.
Her work has been published by The New York Times, The Wallstreet Journal, I-D Magazine, New York Magazine, Vogue Korea, Highsnobiety Magazine, Cosmopolitan Magazine, The Fader, Paper Magazine, Document Journal, Office Magazine, and Kaleidoscope Magazine. In addition, her work has been exhibited at the International Center of Photography and the PhotoVogue Festival in Milan.
