About Benny Lam

Benny Lam, graduated from the Ontario College of Art and Design in Canada, is a professional photographer in Hong Kong. Being a member of HKIPP, Benny has been consistently working with local and international brands as well as advertising agencies. Over the last decade Benny has been also active in creative media and recently he has devoted himself to using his camera lens to reveal the pathetic conditions of the underprivileged in Hong Kong. From affluence to poverty, from business to charity, he walks through streets and alleys, crosses over mountains after mountains, using various shades of lights intelligently to capture scenes that we easily miss in the city and nature, keeping a record of the tenacious lives.

Over the years, Benny has won numerous local and international awards, such as the Best Photography in HK4As Kam Fan Awards, Cannes Lions Finalist, the Grand Prix in ADSA International Non-profit and Social Advertising Award, the LongXi Awards, the Award of Excellence in Photography at Global Society for News Design Awards, the Shortisted Artist of The Prix Pictet Space Global Award and the Communication Arts Award. His works were also featured in renowned creative magazine Archive and esteemed publication European Photography, in addition to being exhibited at the DOX Centre for Contemporary Art in Prague, Victoria & Albert Museum in London, LUMA Westbau in Zurich, Hillside Forum in Tokyo, Mouravieff House & Museum in Moscow, House of Economy/Haus der Wirtschaft in Germany, Museum of Modern Art in Mexico City, Italian Centre for Photography in Turin, CAB in Brussels, Gdynia Design Days Festival in Poland , EPEL – ArtLab in Lausanne, Global Art Center in İstanbul, Porto Photo Fest in Portugal, the National Museum of Modern & Contemporary Art in Korea, Flowers Gallery in New York, Gallery of Photography in Dublin.
