Galen Rowell abandoned his auto repair shop in the early seventies and took up adventuring and photography. This book is a retrospective of his career showing work taken during over 1,000 climbs all over the world. He has taken photographs for National Geographic and has had exhibitions at such institutions as the International Center of Photography and the California Academy of Sciences.
