August Kotzsch, 1836-1910: Photograph in Loschwitz bei Dresden (German Edition)

This book collects the recently re-discovered work of photographer Friedrich August Kotzsch, who photographed scenes from rural life on the outskirts of mid-nineteenth-century Dresden. Included among the plates are portraits, botanical photographs, landscapes, compositions with farm tools, and views of daily life chores and diversions of country life, accompanied by a biographical text with illustrations of the photographer's drawings and facsimiles of letters. Kotzsch is considered "the photographer of `the Biedermeier-period'"--the publisher.
