This is a collection of new work by conceptual artist Dieter Appelt. As described in the book's introduction by Bernd Weyergraf, "The actuality of this artist's images lies not least in the fact that they allow us to see the limits of our predilections and models and point out a way which leads us out of the hall of mirrors in which we see but ourselves. A way, moreover, which leads us back to a kind of photography in which what is imaginary becomes reality and shadows regain the power to speak."
