Richard Prince: Jokes and Cartoons

Conceived by the artist, Jokes and Cartoons gathers together the raw material from the series ‘Joke Paintings' for the first time and in doing so details an important aspect of Prince's oeuvre. The collection of unpublished manuscripts, familiar pieces, work from Prince's personal collection, cartoons and jokes, comment as much on the perception of his own work through the filter of a devalued form of humour as on the popular material appropriated through it.
