Triptych: Julio Mitchel

Julio Mitchel presents a photographic statement--in the figure of a triptych--on the human experiences he finds universal. His photographs address the experience of war, in pictures of Lebanon and Northern Ireland, the experience of suffering and death as seen in a hospital for the chronically ill, and the experience of love, or lovemaking. His photographs are dark, expressive, and challenging. The foreword is by Charles Henri-Favrod, Director of the Musée de l'Elysée in Lausanne, Switzerland, where this work was first exhibited.
