After studying internationally, Ana Lucia Pérez Tobón returned to her native Columbia to open the studio Lucana in Medellin. There is a startling variety in this work, primarily organized around a series of impossibly sculptural nudes--some of which puzzlingly abstract bodies into highly sexualized, yet nearly non-figurative forms. Oddly paired with this masterful eroticism are Tobón's studies of Colombian villages and their inhabitants.
