Light Years

by Peter Weiermair

Publisher's Description
Light Years, Ralph Gibson's first retrospective monograph, is a carefully sequenced, well printed, collection of the artist's unique, dream-like images. It begins with his San Francisco series from 1960 and, with its own mysterious logic, proceeds through Gibson's career to the Pharonic Light series of 1991. In the early Seventies Gibson started Lustrum Press, where he published his own groundbreaking monographs Déjà-Vu, the Somnambulist, and Days at Sea along with Larry Clark's Tulsa and the classic Darkroom theory books.
