Dominic Davies: To Cage

This book is a compassionate portrait of one or more European zoos. The large-scale color photographs, taken with a view camera that has thrown the field of focus askew through swings and tilts, demand ones attention. The isolation of the cages and the ever-present concrete, emphasizes that humans are in control and force one to contemplate the usefulness, on any level, of maintaining such 'sanctuaries'.
