Raimund Kummer: On Sculpture

Sculptor Raimund Kummer integrates photography into his artistic endeavours in the form of reflection, sketch, or independent sculpture. On Sculpture surveys 20 years of his work, in the course of which sculptural photography manifests itself as a specific art form. The photographic medium constantly interacts with his sculptures and installations, as a work tool, visual scribble, experimental field, image archive, and key source of creativity. One hundred and twenty nine color images are complimented by and essay by Herbert Molderings, analyzing Kummer’s work and the evolution of photo sculptures.
