Hiromi Tsuchida: Zokushin

This is a reprint of Zokushin, which was first published thirty years ago, in 1976. In the 1970s, Tsuchida travelled through the rural areas of Japanese islands to photograph the inhabitants in their daily lives. He captured people in a manner that cast them as gods of the earth (Zokushin) who lived simply, spontaneously, well grounded and had little concern with what others thought, or how they themselves looked or dressed. This reprint presents 115 black and white photographs, one to every two pages, and includes an introduction by Kazuhiko Komatsu.
