Andre Kertesz of Paris and New York

Although numerous books by and about André Kertész have been published over the years, this new publication marks the first time his work has been presented in a critical context. Focusing on photographs made from 1925 to 1954, the three essays clarify his personal and professional history, using 125 text illustrations in addition to the 180 full page duotones, beautifully printed on uncoated stock, reminiscent of fine gravure printing. Included are many rare images, reproduced from the original, vintage prints. A welcome and much needed monograph on this important photographer.
