Demand has slowly built up a singular oeuvre that forces the viewer to reflect on the status of the image as something that oscillates between truth and fiction. Documenting work presented at the newly opened Fundación Telefónica exhibition space, this well conceived and extensive catalogue features various photographic series produced since 2001. Particular space is afforded to the recent works – Tavern (2006) and Embassy (2007) – that explore specific events that are loaded with social and political meaning. Illustrated throughout with full colour reproductions, the catalogue also includes a number of exploratory essays, including one by the artist himself.
