Mads Gamdrup makes photographs that explore the tension between pristine nature and prosaic civilization on the one hand, and conflict between realities of life and the sanctity of an imagined perfection of the other. Gamdrup produces modernist images devoid of nearly all references to a particular time or social order, as a product of his photograhic quest.
