Miller left the United States for Paris in 1929 as a legendary fashion model; her goal was to study photography, which she did under Man Ray, becoming a disciple of the Surrealists and quickly gaining a reputation as a fine documentary and fashion photographer. This is the only in-print book on her life, and is a fine retrospective.
