Patrizia Bonanzinga: The Road To Coal

Using only black and white film, photographer Patrizia Bonanzinga traced the path of China’s coal industry that runs along the Datong-Beijing axis, and presents here a touching, yet very tough and complex view of that universe. The text that accompanies the visuals is written with the same spirit-free from militant engagement, it shows this complex human whole, so simple but also very proud. Bonanzinga sketches a picture that gives life to the Chinese coal world where human bonds are formed by the difficulty of the task at hand.
