Published as volume 11 in the series of Dutch Photographers, Jesse's brief career as a photographer (1942-1960) was acclaimed in his own time. But somehow recognition in his work has since gone unrecognised. This monograph aims to rectify that: reproducing work from his award winning books 'The Women of Paris' (1960) and 'Oranje Nassau Mijnen', with hundreds of other portraits and street moments.
