Wijnanda Deroo lives and works already 20 years close to New York but her subjects are not confined to the USA only. During her visits to Indonesia she made a series of photographs in which silence and emptiness play an important role. Her good eye for details which at first appear dull and uninteresting is also discernible in the photographs published in this book.
